We received a grant from the Presybterian Mission group, Self Development of People. As a part of our farmers market we were funded to support the Oakland Avenue Community Garden and Greenhouse Cooperative eleven members working the Greater Woodward Northend Community during the 2011/2012 year. This grant of $15,300 made it possible for the group to purchase equipment, build a web presence, pay for gas expense and some stipends.
Charter One Bank granted funds in the amount of $4,000. This money was used to increase our marketing presence fo the Oakland Avenue Farmers Market.
Michigan Community Resource grant of $5,000 helps provide assistance to groups carrying out vacant property maintenance and neighborhood security initiatives in Detroit Neighborhoods.

After school tutuoring in reading on Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm and Saturday fromm 11am to 2pm. Transportation will be provided in January.
Oakland Avenue Community Garden is proud to announce our newly built Greenhouse. The greenhouse will be used to extend our growing season and expand our skill training and educational classes. If you are interested in participating in our skill training or educational classes in the greenhouse, please contact us for additional information.
It’s harvest time at the garden. We have cucumbers, cabbage, collards, dino kale, squash, peppers, basil, tomatoes, crowded peas, beets and onions. Join us Monday – Thursday 9 to 2 pm.
The Northend Art-Gardens Grant funded by the Kresge Foundation
From June to August youth will work with local artist to create one piece drive-by-art (mural or sculpture) for 4 community gardens. The garden sites are: Detroit Mural Factory at the corner of John R and Kenilworth, Belmont Community Gardens on Belmont between John R and Brush, Oakland Avenue Community Gardens, 9354 Oakland Avenue and Loving School Garden facing Oakland Ave.
